Blackpool Top of the Premier League – For Football Fans’ Health
There was a time when Jimmy Greaves (supposedly) had a ciggy and a bottle of brown at half time. That may well be a matter of myth but it’s a far cry from today. Even the fans stay off the booze and fags. According to a survey by NHS choices 85% of Spurs fans drink within the recommended daily limits and Blackpool fans come out top being the healthies fans in the Premier League.
According to footballtradedirectory.com Wigan fans join Blackpool’s and Spurs’ as being amongst the healthiest.
They quote Public Health Minister Anne Milton as saying: “Over the summer players such as Spain’s Cesc Fabregas and Argentina’s Carlos Tevez dazzled the world with their skill and ability to play high tempo football in South Africa. By highlighting the gap between their own health and these Premiership stars, we hope young people will be inspired to get active and adopt a healthy diet.”
